Sinful Scottish Laird by Julia London

Sinful Scottish Laird by Julia London is a fun twist on your typical historical romance novel.

When Daisy Bristol’s husband dies she’s left a rich widow and single mother to her young son.  She wants to live her life as she pleases, but unfortunately, a caveat in her husband’s will dictates that she must remarry in three years or forfeit her son’s inheritance.  A well-timed letter from her first love gives her hope, but she has some time to kill so they set off for the family’s Scottish Estate.  There, she meets Cailean Mackenzie, laird of Arrandale, and a man wanted for smuggling.

Daisy has never met a man like Cailean before.  Cold, aloof, and utterly magnificent he haunts her dreams and her waking life.  She knows she’s waiting for her true love, but she can’t help being intrigued by Cailean.  Cailean knows Daisy is an incorrigible flirt.  He tries to ignore the feelings building deep within himself, but in the end he knows that Daisy is meant to be with him, not with her childhood love, who's harboring some secrets of his own.

Sinful Scottish Laird was a bit of a slow build, but Ms. London knows just when to turn up the heat.  This book was sexy, unpredictable, and filled with drama.  There were times that I wanted to reach through the pages and throttle Daisy for wasting her time on some guy who didn’t deserve her.  There were times that I wanted to scream because Cailean was so closed off to his own heart and his own desires.  But, in the end, I so enjoyed the ride that Ms. London took me on.

The writing was superb.  It was the sort of experience where you can picture every little detail of the estate, and Cailean, and the beautiful lake.  I wanted to fall into Scotland and never leave.

You’re not going to want to leave either.

Book is released February 28, 2017.  If you’re into Scottish men, historical novels, or heated scenes in backyard sheds, then give this a try.
